ACTIVITIES

Every week we meet twice, on Friday afternoon and on Sunday. The program will be a mix between three different core activities: music, sports & games, and English language lessons. These three activities also stimulate different skills: their creative, physical and cognitive abilities. For example, an afternoon will start with a game outside, in the break together to have a drink and talk, and then make music together. That way we keep it varied and interesting.

FUN FILLED ACTIVITIES

SPORTS GAME

Children are mobile and therefore it is good if they can play and play. Behind the building that we rent is space for the children to play outside. We asked young people to be involved and coach the children in different sporting activities. At the end of the season we want to make a competition (probably of football) in which the children can win various medals and cups.

English Language Lessons

We also offer English language lessons to children in elementary school age. Every month we treat a different theme, so that it is easy for children to move in or out. Examples of themes are: the seasons, holidays, etc. The lessons take 30 - 45 minutes and is a variety of different skills, such as reading, listening, speaking, writing (and drawing), singing songs, etc. We want to encourage them through a system of positive reward, for example by means of stickers if they have done their lesson well.

Music Lesson

Our music lessons started in 2015 with a group of about 10 children from different cultural, professional and ethnic backgrounds. They met once a week to train on different musical instruments, such as the piano, drums, guitar and bass guitar, and to talk (sideways) about problems they face (eg in their family). For financial reasons we have to terminate this project before the summer of 2016. We want to expand this project further so that we can reach more children, but for this we need financial support.
